Seven Candidates to Run for Election - Sheikh Nahnah Disqualified

The election watchdog, the Constitutional Council (CC), released the names of the candidates it approved and who qualify to become president.  Four weeks ago, there were some 50 potential candidates but only eleven have filed for election papers and confirmed to the press that they were able to gather the required number of signatures.  The biggest surpise is the disqualification of the moderate Islamist leader Sheik Mahfoud Nahnah.
