in Morocco reports a trend that worries the tourism industry. L’Economiste
newspaper reported that an article in a Dutch magazine, the Rotterdam Telegraph,
warned that “nine out of ten beaches in Morocco are polluted and have a

Algeria
THE GIA DURING
THE ELECTION
The Presidential
election in Algeria was an opportunity for the leader of the GIA terrorist
group Hassan Hattab to call for the intensification of violence in central
Algeria. The regions of Bouira, Boumerdes, Medea, Jelfa and Ain-Defla
witnessed increased acts of violence resulting in the assassination of
at least 8 civilians, scores of wounded, and sabotage of infrastructure.

BANKS TO ESTABLISH SUBSIDIARIES
Over the next six months three foreign
banks are expected to obtain a license to operate in Algeria. The
