Morocco pledged to double the number of tourists in a five year period. Attracting 10 million foreign visitors by 2010 will be a challenging task for the industry and authorities. This goal can be achieved if past mistakes are not repeated. In its 1980-85 economic plan, Morocco had the ambition to attract 20 million visitors by 2000. But, we already know that it did not happen.
