Current Issues and Outlook

Operating since 1996, the North Africa Journal is an analysis service based in Boston, MA, in the United States. It is an English language source of economic and political analyses for the emerging markets of Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Libya and Mauritania - a region known as the Maghreb.

The North Africa Journal analyzes a wide range of business, economic and political topics. Analyses provide clear discussions on issues that are vital to individuals and organizations that need to make fast and smart decisions about investments and other business activities in the region. Recent analyses have explored issues such as water shortages in the Maghreb, declining oil production in Tunisia, banking and finance practices in Morocco, and Algeria's housing sector along with topics related to law, government, defense, etc.

We also profile the companies and individuals that shape business and politics across the Maghreb - a region at the crossroads of the rapidly changing Mediterranean, European, African and Middle Eastern economies
